Yiyang Women's Federation (YWF) in central China's Hunan Province provided a public welfare lecture on September 16, to popularize knowledge on legal rights protection among over 80 women and children in a local village.

During the event, Bu Xiaojia, a staff member of the Department of Procuratorial Work of Minors, under Yiyang People's Procuratorate, spoke on domestic violence and school bullying, using specific cases as examples. She also introduced ways for the residents to protect their rights and interests when they were victimized by the violence.

Huang Meiqiong, head of the Legal Department of YWF, gave a speech on the legal meaning, danger and legal liability of violence and child abuse. She also taught participants how to collect evidence so as to effectively protect children's rights and interests.

The lecture helped locals better understand legal knowledge, strengthened their legal awareness and promoted social harmony, according to organizers.
