CWUC Holds Symposium on Talent Cultivation

 

China Women's Universities Consortium (CWUC) held a symposium recently on the theme of improving education quality and talent cultivation at women's colleges and universities in China.

Sheng Guojun, one of the presidents of CWUC, also president of Shandong Women's University (SWU), presided over the meeting.

Attendees at the gathering exchanged opinions on innovating teaching methods in accordance with the consortium's development plans.

Presidents of different member universities shared their experiences in personnel training, evaluation work, innovation and entrepreneurship education, as well as their achievements in developing application-oriented female talents, cultivating well-rounded international female talents and reforming approaches towards education.

Speakers included Wang Lian, vice-president of China Women's University (CWU); Hao Yong, member of the Party Committee at Guangdong Women's Polytechnic College; Wang Fenghua, director of the Teaching Affairs Office at Hunan Women's University; Yang Suping, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Ginling College at Nanjing Normal University; and, Mu Yong, director of SWU's Teaching Affairs Office.

Following the first phase of discussion, Zhang Hua, dean of the Women's College at Shanghai Normal University, expressed her opinion on distinctive women's education.

Jin Shaman, dean of the Women's Institute at Xi'an Peihua University, shared her experience on how to promote women's studies.

Gai Chunrui, president of Hebei Women's Vocational College, gave her opinion on female occupational education under the guidance of the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Afterwards, organizers held a meeting on bilateral cooperation and exchange projects. Liu Liqun, president of CWUC and CWU, put forward suggestions for specific projects that combine the university's teaching assessment rectification and Belt and Road talent training base construction and other key works of the consortium.

Hou Dianmu, director of CWU's Teaching Affairs Office, introduced two projects concerning the construction of women's education platform and women's vocational development. Ye Shuiping, director of CWU's International Cooperation Department, introduced a Belt and Road training base project and its course construction scheme.

Han Yan, director of CWU's Student Affairs Office, introduced the implementation plan of the Belt and Road social practice scheme and the young Marxist training program initiated by CWUC.

 

CWUC Holds Symposium on Talent Cultivation

 

At the closing ceremony, Liu Liqun delivered a concluding speech. She said CWUC provided a platform of communication for the member universities. She hoped those attendees could join efforts to build an international brand for women's education.

It is believed that the meeting will be beneficial for member universities of the consortium to further grasp the talent training orientation, make innovation in disciplines arrangement and cultivate more female talents.
