Cui Yu was elected as vice president of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), a member of its Secretariat, and a member of its Party leadership group at the 11th National Women's Congress.

She is also vice president of the All-China Federation of Trade Union (ACFTU). She is a member of the 12th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Cui, Han Nationality, was born in Mancheng, north China's Hebei Province in November 1956. She began working in December 1972 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in January 1986. Graduating from economics department of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, she holds bachelor's and master's degree.
