CWU Donates 'Yiwu Youth Electronic Reading Room' to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

On July 27, the launch ceremony of "Yiwu Youth Electronic Reading Room", which was donated by China Women's University (CWU), was held in Yiwu Senior Middle School, Yiwu county, northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. 

Director of CWU Computer Science Department Ning Ling, Yiwu County Party Standing Committee and Propaganda Department Minister Teng Chunling, and Yiwu County Party Deputy Secretary Zhang Xiaojin attended the event. Attendees were also CWU teacher Cao Yanjiang, who took a temporary post as Yiwu County Party Deputy Secretary, Vice-President of Yiwu Senior Middle School Gao Hongjian, and members of the teaching staff and students.

After patient and meticulous wiring, installation and commissioning, 30 computer facilities worth more than a hundred thousand yuan were finally set in the "Yiwu Youth Electronic Reading Room". Ning said, "on behalf of CWU leaders and all the teachers and students, we arrive at the foot of beautiful Tianshan Mountain. I feel enriched and happy to offer my small effort to Yiwu youths to help them communicate with the whole world more easily." 

She added, "The teaching model of CWU computer science department is based on the ideals of women. We pay common attention to the basic theory, computer application technology and ability training, and have gradually strengthened students' teaching practice for many years. Thanks to Yiwu County for providing students' with professional practice and training. We hope to develop our discipline and further our advantages, to serve Yiwu, Xinjiang, and the whole national construction in a different way."

Gao Hongjian thanked CWU for its support and help on behalf of Yiwu Senior Middle School. He said that they will make full use of the reading room to further understand the outside world, broaden their horizons, enrich their knowledge, and teach students to study hard, to change their destiny and construct a beautiful China with their knowledge.Teng said, "CWU travelled miles to donate the 'Yiwu Youth Electronic Reading Room' for local youths. This spirit of selfless dedication is touching and worth learning. Completion of the reading room will help Yiwu students to broaden their horizons, increase their knowledge, bridge the digital divide, and grow their wings for their learning and entrepreneurship. It also makes the economic development of the 'One Belt, One Road' more convenient in Yiwu, and makes a contribution to Yiwu's prolonged political stability."

To serve economic development, CWU has donated many reading rooms with its computer specialist program, including Zhangxian electronic reading room in Gansu Province, Xibaipo electronic reading room in Hebei Province, and "Changqingyuan community Senior Electronic Reading Room" in Dongcheng District of Beijing.  The "Yiwu Youth Electronic Reading Room" is another Loving Care Project introduced by its teacher Cao.
