Two Sessions | Deputy Highlights Women's Role in Digital Economy

 

Chen Wei, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress, is part-time Vice-President of Chongqing Federation of Industry and Commerce. She is also Chairperson of Chongqing SocialCredits Technology Co., Ltd. During this year's NPC session, Chen proposed promoting the high-quality development of the nation's digital economy, and securing a good business environment, under the rule of law.

During a meeting of Chongqing's delegation of NPC deputies, she said, "Building a digital Chongqing means discovering suitable approaches to urban management and industrial upgrading for megacity governance. That has provided a good stage to many private enterprises, with strong technological innovation capabilities."

Chen, elected a delegate to the 13th National Women's Congress of China last year, said she will call on fellow women scientific and technological workers to keep up with the trend of digitalization. She also said she hoped women will participate in the digital economy, with a more open, international vision, and that women will contribute to China's high-level self-reliance in science and technology.
