September 15 saw the opening in Rome, Italy, of the Chinese Women's Culture Week and the Sino-Italian Women's Forum, as part of the Chinese Culture Year in Italy. The Seventh Chinese Young Female Scientists Award ceremony took place yesterday in Beijing. Winners this year are double the original five, and include women scientists from Hong Kong and Macao.
The Fourth Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC), the national legislature, will open on March 5, and the Fourth Session of the National Committee of the 11th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the national advisory body, on March 3.
