Cui Yu, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), led a women's delegation to visit Turkmenistan in November 2016.

The event was conducted to implement the exchange plan of the Humanities Cooperation Sub-Committee and strengthen exchange and cooperation among women from the countries along the Belt and Road.

As part of the exchange program, the delegation met with Akja Nuberdiyeva, chairperson of the Assembly of Turkmenistan; met with other female Turkmen elites in the field of politics; shared work experience with the president of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan and women leaders from different sections of society; and visited a women's employment and health project.

The visit enhanced mutual understanding and exchange between women in both countries, and injected new vitality into the joint development of the causes of their women and children, according to officials.

During the meetings, the delegation also visited the No.90 Middle School in Ashgabat, where teachers and students performed songs in Chinese and held exchange activities.

The ACWF also donated computers to schools through the Women's Union of Turkmenistan in order to help local students learn Chinese and further enhance mutual understanding and friendship.
