Hunan Women's Uni Delegates Visit CWU

He Jiangping, vice-president of Hunan Women's University (HWU), visited China Women's University (CWU) on March 9. Song Shengju, CWU vice-president, general secretary and executive vice-chairperson of the China Women's Universities Consortium (CWUC), received him and presided over a symposium.

Attendees also included teachers from HWU Women's Studies Department, and directors from CWU's relevant functional departments.

On behalf of the university, Song warmly welcomed the delegates, and introduced the university's development history, its aims of talent cultivation, curriculum system construction, and teaching practices. With the theme of talent cultivation, Song emphatically introduced CWU's general development situation, teachers' qualification, and the job prospects of the women's studies department.

He expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from CWU, and hoped to further communicate with CWU, and join hands to further explore the development trend of women's studies.

During the event, centered around women's studies construction and talent-cultivation, the two sides exchanged their ideas towards talents cultivation, the training program, curriculum design, teaching practice, and employment prospects. Focusing on the job market, CWU teachers shared their experiences in providing qualified graduates for government agencies, non-government organizations, higher institutes, enterprises and public institutes. Some of the graduates also chose to start their own business, related officials.

CWU teachers also explored possibilities of expanding employment channels with the help of All-China Women's Federation. Visitors investigated CWU students' academic status, career planning, and occupational direction, and spoke highly of their comprehensive quality.

The two sides reached a consensus on women's studies construction, talent-cultivation, and specialty construction.
