Themed on "Reform and Development of Women's Work in the New Situation", the event aimed to explore new challenges and problems of women's causes in the new era and promote the innovation and development of mass organizations' work.

More than 50 presidents of women cadres' schools and experts in women's education participated in the event, including Zhang Lixi, vice-president of CWRS and president of Women's Education Committee of CWRS; Liu Meng, vice-president of CWU; Peng Limin, president of Hubei Women's Federation; and Gao Qin, vice-president of Hubei Women's Federation.

On behalf of the CWRS, Zhang extended congratulations to the meeting and conveyed the spirit of the speech made by Shen Yueyue, President of the All-China Women's Federation, at the CWRS's annual meeting, which aimed to promote the innovative development of Chinese women's research under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

During CWRS's annual meeting, Shen urged attendees to closely study the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, unify their thinking with actions, be armed with Xi's thinking, implement the spirit throughout the entire process of women's theory research and take responsibility for women's research in the new era.

Huang Haoming, vice-president and secretary-general of the China Association for NGO Cooperation, made a speech named "Making Full Use of NGO in Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative". Du Jie, deputy director of CWRS affiliated with the ACWF, gave a keynote address on the key points of women's development from the perspective of the new development philosophy.

The organizers set up two sub-forums themed on women cadres' position, role and practical strategy in development of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as new experiences and approaches to women's work in the mass organizations reform.

Nearly 20 experts and scholars shared their research results and practical experience with other participants.

Bian Wen, president of Shanghai Women Cadres' School, presided over the closing ceremony. Liu Yi, president of Hunan Women Cadres' School, Zhu Yaoping, president of Hubei Women Cadres' School, and Li Ying, dean of the International Education School of CWU, made speeches during the ceremony.

The topics of their speeches included strongly boosting the regionalization of grassroots women's federations, Hubei Women Cadres' School's innovative practice and exploration in mass organizations reform and promoting the transformation development of the school, and CWU's efforts in exploring the internationalization of higher education under the Belt and Road Initiative.

At the end of the meeting, Liu Meng summarized that the meeting was successful in an intense but orderly manner and achieved the expected results. The conference provides valuable experience for the women's federation reform, women cadres training and how to better play the role of women in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Liu also said that the meeting was characterized by the participants' universality. The theme of the conference stayed close to the current situation of women's development. Its distinctive features and prominent key points demonstrated the influence of the CPC Central Committee's instructions on mass organizations on women's federation reform. Liu urged all attendees to take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guidance, explore the new rules and characteristics of women's development, and further contribute to women's theoretical and practical exploration.

The conference has strengthened the communication and exchanges between CWU and women cadres' schools across the country. CWU will take the event as an opportunity to further deepen the work of women's federation reform and women studies to get with the national strategy and women's development.
