CWU Fights Against COVID-19

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the China Women's University (CWU) has fully implemented epidemic prevention and control measures according to the spirit of the important instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the requirements of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), the Ministry of Education and the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, prioritizing the safety and health of students and teachers.

The CWU set up a leading team of epidemic prevention and control on January 23, to carry out the school leaders' responsibilities of supervision on the epidemic prevention and control measures and to safeguard the effective operation of the preventive measures in the university. Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, and Liu Liqun, President of the CWU, work as heads of the team and other leaders of the university work as deputy heads of the team.

The team consists of staff members from various departments, including the general office, publicity department and security department.

Leaders of the CWU have assumed their responsibility to guide the implementation of the epidemic prevention and control work in the university. Over recent days The team has held two online meetings per day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, to convey the requests from superiors, discuss the preventive measures of the university and push forward the implementation of the preventive measures, in the past days.

Under the leadership of the leading team of epidemic prevention and control, relevant departments have formulated detailed working plans of preventive measures, covering the prevention and control work on the campus, the quarantine plan of teachers and students in different conditions, the teaching arrangements amid the epidemic, logistical support, student management and the publicity work. Every department further clarified its tasks and responsibilities to ensure the effective implementation of targeted epidemic prevention and control work.

The CWU has established a duty system amid the epidemic. The leaders of the university on duty guide the working staff on to carry out on-site screening of lodges, canteens, students' dormitories and quarantine observation areas, check the work of temperature measurement at the school gate and sanitary and anti-epidemic work across the campus, and learn the health condition of quarantined students, in a bid to solve problems at an early stage.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, under the guidance of the leading team, the CWU has established sound mechanisms for epidemic prevention and control, clarified tasks and responsibilities and enforced the implementation of measures to make the campus safe and stable. The students and teachers of the CWU are confident about winning the fight against the epidemic.
