The China Women's University (CWU) has decided to postpone the back-to-school date for the spring semester 2020 due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The CWU aims to protect the safety and health of its teachers and students in accordance with the unified deployment of the All-China Women's Federation, the Ministry of Education, and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.

The CWU announced the postponement in a letter to all teachers and students of the university.

The university described its teaching tasks during the COVID-19 outbreak in the letter and said it would make all-out efforts to ensure the online teaching work is effective in spite of the epidemic.

According to the university's school calendar, the CWU officially started the online courses as scheduled on February 24. Teachers and students are required to conduct teaching and learning by using online resources, live streaming platforms, and accessible teaching software.

So far, the CWU has provided an online teaching platform, a smart teaching platform, a MOOC platform, and a practical teaching platform to help the students finish their courses amid the epidemic.

For students who lack the access to online courses at home, teachers will develop a personalized teaching plan so they can finish the courses on time.

In addition, the university's library has set up a remote access platform for teachers and students to use its resources at home for research and study. It also launched a variety of themed activities to encourage students to read more books at home.
