Seminar Held to Promote Chinese, French Women's Development, Gender Equality

A seminar on promoting women's development and gender equality between China and France was held on June 24 in Beijing.[Women of China/Zhang Jiamin]

A seminar on promoting women's development and gender equality between China and France was held on June 24 in Beijing.

At the seminar, Chinese and French women delegates talked about their opinions respectively about the relationship between women and water resource, employment equality and women's mental health.

Director of the International Department of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) Mu Hong delivered a speech in which she said that the communications and dialogues on promoting gender equality between Chinese and French women are helpful for mutual understanding and studies in gender equality between the two countries.

After the seminar, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF Cui Yu met with French delegations of women's organizations.

Cui Yu spoke highly of Sino-French relations and shared experiences in women’s development. She stressed that the diplomatic relations between the two countries should be an occasion to further deepen exchanges and cooperation. Cui went on to say that the French women's organizations are there to promote the new era of friendship and cooperation between China and France.

The delegation thanked the ACWF for their warm invitation and hospitality, and said they would actively promote exchanges and cooperation between women's organizations in France and the ACWF.

This year's January 27 marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of France. Being the first between China and a Western power, China-France ties have developed beyond ordinary bilateral ties.
