CWU Holds Training Session for Women Officials in Xinjiang

 

China Women's University (CWU) held a 6-day training session for female officials from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on July 9.

Some 70 women cadres participated in the event, which was presided over by CWU Vice-President Wang Jingxia.

Attendees also included Xu Lihua, secretary of the Organization Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Xu Xu, director of ACWF's Personnel Division.

Li Mingshun, secretary of CWU Party Committee, made an opening speech. He warmly welcomed the trainees on behalf the university and sincerely thanked the ACWF for its support and guidance. CWU attached great importance to the training course and kept in close contact with Xinjiang Women's Federation (XWF), Li said.

The training course aims to carry out the spirit of the 6th Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee and the spirit of the mass organizations work conference. 

Li said that the whole Party, whole of society and people of all ethnic groups should pay special attention and join efforts to realize women's all-round development and gender equality. Li hoped that women officials could continue to foster the concept of life-long pursuit of study, work according to the needs of the Party and the government, address women's concerns and carry out their due obligations. 

Kulaixi Abudula, vice-president and member of the XWF's Party Leadership Group, expressed her thanks to ACWF leaders for their attention and care, and to CWU leaders for their elaborate arrangements. 

She called on participants to learn from the training course, establish a good style of study, observe the disciplines and set up a good image of the Xinjiang cadre. The women officials should take the training session as a new starting point for future work and make contributions to women's causes in Xinjiang, the vice-president added.

At the end of the ceremony, Xu Lihua made a speech on the current status of grassroots women's organizations. Themed "Strengthening the Construction of Female Cadres, Pushing Forward the Innovative Work of Women's Federations", the session included special classes, named "Strengthening Party Self-discipline and Culture Confidence", "Theory and Practice of Chinese Women's Development", "National Mechanism and Social Gender Mainstreaming", "Great Leadership", "Guiding and Dealing with the Public Opinions in an Omni-media Age" and "Work-flow of Women's Federations".
