Zhu Yingbo, a teacher from the School of Management at China Women's University (CWU), was elected a deputy to the 16th People's Congress in Beijing's Chaoyang District.

Zhu, who has no Party affiliation, was selected into Beijing's Young Talent Training Program on National Governance in 2016. According to the requirements and procedure of the election, CWU prepared its candidates' materials and submitted them to the election commission.

After a series of examinations by the commission, Zhu was chosen as a people's congress deputy in Chaoyang District. He is the second teacher from CWU to become a deputy after Vice-President Wang Lian.

The appointment opened up a channel for CWU's teachers and students to participate in local governmental affairs and make full use of their social service skills.

In order to complete the work smoothly, CWU set up a special panel to supervise the whole process. Most of the university's functional departments participated in the event, including the Student Affairs Office, Youth League Committee, Organization Department, Publicity Department, Personnel Division, Logistic Management Office, Security Department and the North Campus.
