CWU Wraps up Seminar for Grassroots Women's Federation Presidents

The Organization Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and China Women's University (CWU) co-sponsored a series of training courses for presidents of prefecture-level women's federations in December.

The aims of each course were to implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC); closely study President Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; and, further deepen reform of women's federations at all levels.

A total of 385 presidents participated in the event, covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, along with Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

The organizers made detailed arrangements, deliberated on the training curriculum, strived to conform to the times and highlighted practicality and relevance.

The training courses conveyed the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress. They also conveyed the theory and practice of women's development through the deepened reform of women's federations and women's psychological adjustment.

Leaders from some ACWF departments introduced their responsibilities and deployed their specific work goals at the conference. Those departments included the Organization Department, the Department for Women's Development, the Department of Family and Children's Affairs, the Legal Department and the Publicity Department.

Xu Lihua, director-general of the ACWF's Organization Department, and CWU President Liu Liqun presented the opening ceremonies on each of the training courses and made keynote speeches. Zhang Yanhong, deputy director-general of the ACWF's Organization Department, and CWU Vice-President Wang Jingxia attended the closing ceremonies and made summary speeches, respectively.

Trainees said that they created "a new sense towards the spirit of 19th CPC National Congress," learned new ideas in promoting the reform of women's federations and achieved rich experiences in dealing with practical work.

Participants also expressed their determination to effectively transform the Congress spirit into fresh ideas, measures and actions when carrying out the work of women's federations. They also hoped to push their work to a new level with favorable training results.
