China Women's University (CWU) held a meeting at its assembly hall on April 16 to learn and act on the spirit of the annual sessions of the country's top legislature and top political advisory body in Beijing in March.

During the meeting, Hu Xinghua, curator of the archives affiliated to the Construction and Administration Bureau of South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route Project, delivered a lecture, in which she talked about the relationship between the implementation of the water diversion project and the improvement of the public's livelihoods.

Hu introduced the research, construction and technological innovation of the water diversion project, along with its economic, social and ecological effects. She also responded to other public concerns in her lecture.

The lecture covered the building of an ecological civilization as President Xi Jinping announced in his report to 19th National Congress of the CPC in October 2017 and the important decisions on the promotion of high-quality growth and the protection of ecological environment enacted at the annual two sessions in March.

Hu continued stating that the project has demonstrated its builders' commitment to deliver on the promise made by the CPC and Chinese Government to meet the public's demand for a better life.

Zhao Hao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of the CWU, who presided over the meeting, said that the people-oriented concept has been integrated into the water diversion project, which has echoed the public's longing for a better life.

She urged all staff members and students to remain true to the original aspiration of the CWU, act on the spirit of the water diversion project, show their sense of mission, innovation and sacrifice in the university's reform, become capable socialist constructors, and strive for the realization of the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation when the CWU is to celebrate its 70th founding anniversary.

All faculty members and student representatives attended the event.
