In order to better serve citizens across the region, many local women's federations in China have recently introduced a rotating presidential work scheme.

On such federation is situated in the country's northeastern Liaoning Province.

Song Xiaoying, president of the grassroots federation in the Huanggu District of Shenyang, said: "Here, we involve many capable individuals from different fields as part-time officials to help organize women's activities.

"Their respective areas will assist to bring more benefits to women from the general population," Song commented.

Three such part-time officials are Zhao Xin, Shi Yu and Shi Hong.

The first rotating vice-president, Zhao, manages a local educational agency. She organized a women's entrepreneurship program in March.

"This initiative aims to lead and guide women in their startups and further business management issues, such as declaring taxes, opening a bank account and advancing cooperative projects," Zhao concluded.

Another official, Shi Yu, and her team of around 100 experts, have offered free psychological consultations every week at the federation since 2013.

"My biggest pleasure is to help people step out of their miseries and embrace happiness," the psychologist explained.

Moreover, a volunteers' team called Sisters' Association was also founded the same year. It aims to safeguard women's rights and interests.

"So far, the team has grown into over 100 part-time officials, who serve as local judges, lawyers, and psychology experts," a lawyer named Shi Hong said.

Last year, the association assisted a woman to win a divorce lawsuit after she suffered domestic violence from her husband. Later, the district issued the province's first personal safety protection order to safeguard the woman's rights, the lawyer added.
