Organizers have fully transformed women's representative committees in east China's Jiangsu Province into women's federations, according to a recent statement.
Some 160,000 female officials have been affected by the move.
Relevant groups have founded more than 20,000 Women and Children's Home centers, with financial aid of over 20 million yuan (U.S.$2,985,074).
In addition, federations also joined 402 public projects to offer targeted services.
Women's federations in the province took the lead in establishing official websites and new media platforms, allowing nearly 6 million women, online and offline, to actively engage in various activities.
Furthermore, federations have published a study on how to promotefamily developmentin the new era with the joint efforts of eight other departments.
Federations carried out 22,000 lectures on spreading family virtues and elected 189,000 households as Most Beautiful Families.
New model to boost women's development
Federations founded 420 demonstration bases of provincial women entrepreneurs, creating more jobs in the region.
They have opened and operated the hotline 96338 smart family service platform, a unified brand in the province.
In the province, more than 5.9 billion yuan (U.S. $ 8.8 million) in micro-finance for boosting women's entrepreneurship has been made available, facilitating 61,500 women to start their own businesses and over 900,000 females to find jobs.
Safeguarding rights and interests of women and children
Federations have pioneered mechanisms to assessand consult on gender-equality-related policies and regulations, anti-domesticviolence, land rights and associated interests.
Organizations established over 1,300 family affairs dispute mediation commissions and trained more than 15,000 full-or part-time mediators.
Furthermore, more than 1,500 lawyer volunteers joined hands with the Women and Children's Home centers to spread legal knowledge.
