Famous Chinese anchor Dong Qing recently caused a stir due to her absence from her current role anchoring the China Central Television (CCTV) show I Want on the Show, leaving only the three judges, Liang Hongda, Wang Zhengzheng and Lou Naiming remaining on the program.

Dong Qing (born November 17, 1973) is a Chinese TV host who presented the CCTV New Year's Gala from 2005 to 2014, which is typically the most watched annual TV show in China. She is fluent in English, and is a well liked host.

It has since been learned that Dong won't attend any more recordings of the program, for reasons which have yet to be made known. Since I Want on the Show is the only program Dong currently anchors, the rumor-mill is buzzing with the news that Dong is to leave CCTV.

Another story doing the rounds is that Dong was invited to anchor a new show, The Great Magician, giving extra credence to this rumor is the fact that Dong has acted as a magician's assistant many times during previous CCTV spring festival galas. However, these are all just rumors, and none of them have yet been proved. Dong may become another famous presenter to leave CCTV after Cui Yongyuan, Li Yong and Qiu Qiming.

Dong won a Golden Mic Award for Television in 2001 and 2006, and has also received a Golden Eagle Award for Best Program Host in 2006.
