Over 130 people attended the activity, including Zhao Ling, Vice President of Zhejiang Women's Federation; Chen Dong, a representative of Hangzhou Aupu Electric Appliance Co. in Zhejiang; and, He Xiaohong, President of Taizhou Women's Federation.
On behalf of the local Party committee and government, Ye Lingjun, deputy head of Tiantai, delivered a welcome speech.
Aupu donated eight TVs sets to youngsters, and charity-minded locals gave them sports equipment including footballs and basketballs.
The household appliance manufacturer has been actively undertaking its social responsibilities, said Chen.
In 2008, the company donated 1,000 TVs to rural impoverished children across the country so that they could watch the Beijing Olympics.
Aupu also allocated a fund of 10 million yuan to promote exchange between rural and urban children.
During the activity, 10 charity-minded families in the local city of Hangzhou exchanged contact information with 10 impoverished children from nearby Pingqiao Town and held a party together.
