The final of 2018 "Love in Wuxi" Chinese Speech Contest for Foreigners took place in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on June 5.
A total of ten foreigners from countries including the United States, Pakistan, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea and Greece, showed their Chinese proficiency and shared their stories of living in Wuxi.

The launching ceremony of 2018 "Love in Wuxi" foreign publicity events also kicked off after the contest.

Sponsored by the Information Office of Wuxi Municipal People's Government, this year's events include forming foreigners' choirs, a short video contest, getting close to inheritors of intangible cultural heritages, Mid-Autumn Festival party, "Foreigner's View of Wuxi" visit and a Chinese and foreigners exchange on Qixi — so-called Chinese Valentine's Day.

A Li learnt Wuxi dialect from his wife who is from Wuxi. Different from foreign families whose children live alone when growing up, his mother-in-law still lives with them. "I am the son-in-law of a Wuxi family," said A Li, and added that he was delightful to have his mother-in-law take care of his children and enjoyed her cooking.
