Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the NPC Standing Committee and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), held a symposium on women's work on July 24 during her inspection tour in eastern China's Zhejiang Province.
As part of the inspection tour, Shen talked with local women to learn their living and working conditions as well as their aspirations. She solicited opinions and suggestions from local officials on the work of the women's federations. She also communicated with women officials at grassroots level about how women could play a role in environmental protection and rural revitalization.

"The whole Party is now promoting the education activities with the theme of remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind. Women's federations at all levels should strengthen their consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, keep in alignment, and strengthen their confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics," Shen said.
She stressed that women's federations at all levels should serve women, and call on them to play a pivotal role in rural revitalization and civilization.
"It is also necessary to support rural women in developing special and advantageous industries according to local conditions, and to guide women to raise their awareness of environmental protection and to help their children and family members cultivate the awareness of environmental protection," she noted.
Shen went on to urge the ACWF to connect with relevant government departments and mass and social organizations, and to unite women's federations at all levels to deliver the Party's care and warmth to ordinary women.
Presidents of some women's federations in Zhejiang Province and women representatives of the province delivered speeches during the symposium.
Che Jun, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee of Zhejiang Province, and Yuan Jiajun, Governor of Zhejiang Province, exchanged ideas with Shen on women's affairs.
