Up-and-coming female Chinese rider Wang Yunjing came 12th in the 1.5-meter-high steeplechase competition on the final day of the 2018 Longines Global Equestrian Championship on April 22 in Shanghai.

Wang, 19, received just one penalty point. A total of 15 jumps are required for each rider to finish the race. The total length of the route is 490 meters and her time was 79 seconds.

The 1.5-meter-high competition adopts a time-lapse system, which includes 12 obstacles, of which three are dual-combination obstacles.

Four Chinese riders took part in the event. It was the first time for Wang to participate in a five-star competition.

Her own horse could not be entered due to accidental injuries, so she partnered with a new horse to complete the trial.

Wang was calm during the whole competition. Applause and loud cheering filled the field as she finished the race.
