A 14-year-old girl has taken care of her intellectually disabled mom for seven years with her sister while studying at school after her father passed away.
Qiu Chunfeng is a junior grade one student at Fuluo Middle School, Zhaoping County, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
She started to take care of her mother at the age of 7 under her father's guidance and she took on this responsibility personally after her sister entered junior school.
Qiu plays a mothering role in taking care of her mom, because her care involves all aspects in her mother's daily life. She has to feed her, help her wash her hands and face, and change her clothes everyday.
In order to take care of her mother, she and her sister rented a small house near their junior school after her sister started school.
Getting up at 6:00 am, she finally goes to sleep at 12:00 pm after finishing her homework everyday.
"I'm not tired because I have become accustomed to this life. I feel happy whenever I see my mom smile and I want her to be so happy every day," she said.
Thanks to government support and some other compassionate individuals, her life has been greatly improved.
The policy of building reconstruction in rural areas also helped her family build a new house and they are now living in it.
In order to remember who has helped her, Qiu writes down all donations and also donators.
"They have helped me so I want to remember and repay them one day in the future," she said.
