Song Xiuyan, vice-president and first member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), visited villages and communities at the start of this month, along with other leaders, to publicize the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) among grassroots women.
Her visit closely echoed a document issued by the ACWF on November 3 that requires some 100 delegates to the latest congress, 1,000 women's federation presidents and 10,000 executive committee members of women's federations to study and explain the congress spirit to people across the country.
In the document, the ACWF calls on outstanding women such as March 8th Red Banner Pacesetters, winners of the campaigns Looking for the Most Beautiful Family and Civilized Families, and scholars and volunteers, to set examples by studying and conveying the spirit.
Online media will be used extensively in the campaign, too. For example, publicity videos will be broadcast on over 6,700 official websites and new media platforms of women's federations, and Daily Micro Class pages will feature explanations on the congress spirit.
Furthermore, officials and grassroots women can exchange their views online in special groups on the popular messaging app WeChat.
The campaign will be run through till next year's Spring Festival holiday (in February). Meanwhile, a group of female CPC delegates who attended the Congress will take part in a targeted trip of publicizing the congress spirit in east China's Jiangsu Province later this month.
