March 6, 2020
Editor: Wei Xuanyi

In celebration of the upcoming International Women's Day, women ambassadors to China sent their greetings and wishes to the All-China Women's Federation and Chinese women, and expressed their appreciation of China's efforts to stop the COVID-19 outbreak. They also offered their firm support and encouragement to China as it fights against the virus. "No winter lasts forever; every spring is sure to follow." China, together with the international community and its global support, will finally prevail over the epidemic.

Here are some of the heartwarming messages from women ambassadors to China.

Message from Tania Romualdo, Ambassador of the Republic of Cape Verde to China

On the occasion of International Women's Day, 8th March, I wish to congratulate All-China Women's Federation and all Chinese women in general, you are doing a great job. Unfortunately, this year, because of the outbreak of COVID-19, we cannot celebrate together, I mean physically together, because we're together in spirit, we're together in thoughts. We are with you, we're witnessing the way Chinese women are involved in the fight against this virus. We admire your strength, your courage, the sacrifices that you've been doing.

And proving, once again, the Chinese women really carry the country on their shoulders, on their hands with very strong confidence. We are confident that you will win this battle. We stand strong with you. We wish you all the best. Happy International Women's Day, and a victory against this COVID-19. You can do it!

Stay strong, Wuhan! Stay strong, China!

Message from Maria Gustava, Ambassador of Mozambique to China

On occasion of the International Women's Day, I want to express on behalf of the Mozambican women our congratulations to the women of the world, our special congratulation and greetings to the Chinese women, particularly to their bravery, their determination and the roles that they are playing in fighting the COVID-19. Mozambique is with China at this moment. I can be assured that the Mozambican women are with you together. We'll be able to fight the virus.

Stay strong, Chinese women! Stay strong, the women of the world!

Message from Clare Fearnley, Ambassador of New Zealand to China

On the occasion of International Women's Day, I would like to extend our best wishes to all Chinese women. This year's Women's Day is special for our Chinese sisters. I would like to express my deep condolences to women who have unfortunately lost relatives and friends in the COVID-19 outbreak and to pay high tributes to those who work in the front line of fighting the epidemic. New Zealand is the first country in the world where women have the right to vote. We know the important role that women play at critical moments. We have also gotten to know the touching stories of many women in the battle against the epidemic. New Zealand stands with China in facing and overcoming difficulties brought by the virus. We also look forward to more exchanges and cooperation with our sisters in China after winning the fight against the disease. Stay strong China! Stay strong Wuhan!

Message from Ms. Naghmana Alamgir Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China

I would like to express a deep appreciation for the tremendously good work that the Chinese government has done to contain the coronavirus. We are also extremely proud of the Chinese doctors and the Chinese nation in fighting this epidemic. We are trying our best to support our students and provide them with all the facilities that they are required at this difficult time. And I would like to assure all our Chinese friends that the government and people of Pakistan are standing by them in this hour of need.

Stay strong, China! Stay strong, Wuhan!

Message from Isabel Domingos, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe to China

The Chinese people are well known for its willingness to work, strength. They have been showing an enormous courage and determination fighting against the coronavirus. I'm strongly confident on their quick resilience in this difficult moment. The STP solidarizes towards China, because the union and cooperation brings the strength and makes difference. Our fight is against the coronavirus and not against people. People are not the virus. Say no to stigma, say no to discrimination. Be strong China, we're with you.

Message from Patty Chen, Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname to China

I would like to extend my greetings to female friends across the country. 2020 is a very special year with the hitting of the COVID-19. But I believe that under the strong leadership of the Chinese government, everyone works hard together, with the attention and support of the international community, and China will definitely achieve the ultimate victory of this battle. And hope you live a confident and happy life.
