Chrysanthemum Flowers Bring Fortune to Ancient Town

Shen Baoyu, a member of the Hujiagou Medical Herbs Planting Profession Cooperative, and her 4-year-old daughter harvest chrysanthemum flowers in Leicheng Village, Chadian Township, Linzhou City in central China's Henan Province on October 24. Local farmers were busy harvesting chrysanthemum flowers that day. The flowers are traditionally used as a herbal medicine. Chadian Township is a historic town situated along an ancient goods road. This year, local farmers planted 800 hectares of the crop, and harvested around 6 million kilograms of flowers, worth about 48 million yuan (U.S. $7.6 million).
