University graduates who studied software engineering enjoyed the highest monthly pay last year, according to the results of a survey released by xinchou.cn, an internet salary survey and report provider.

A total of 2.81 million people who graduated in 2017, 2015 and 2013 from hundreds of Chinese universities were involved in the survey.

The salary for those studying science and engineering, including software engineering, material physics, automobile, applied chemistry, biological sciences, electronic information engineering, architecture, polymer materials and engineering, and petroleum engineering, was relatively high.

The emergence of non-technical majors such as languages, clinical medicine, and applied biological sciences was "surprising", said the report.

Let's take a look at the top 10 university majors with the highest monthly pay.
