Lin Yi, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), had a working meeting with Angellah Kairuki, Tanzanian Minister of State in the President's Office in charge of Local Government and Regional Administration, in Beijing on July 12.
Lin reviewed the history of women's communications between China and Tanzania, and she outlined the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Lin explained comprehensively the new achievements China has made in work related to women and children's development and in promoting family virtues, under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. She also introduced ACWF's major work, expressing the federation's hope to deepen exchanges and cooperation with African countries, including Tanzania.
Kairuki thanked Lin for her introduction. She spoke highly of China's progress in the advancement of women's development, and said Tanzania is willing to learn from China's good practices, deepen practical cooperation in women's causes, and make contributions to strengthen people's friendship, enhance women's development and advance the building of a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
