The third session of the 12th Executive Committee of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) was held in Beijing on February 2, 2021.

Shen Yueyue, President of the ACWF, spoke at the meeting. Shen emphasized the importance of providing political and ideological guidance, serving the overall work of the Party and the state, deepening the reform of the women's federations and strengthening Party leadership and Party building.

Shen urged to promote the high-quality development of the women's federations in the new era, and to unite and mobilize women in contributing to ensuring a good start for fully building a modern socialist country.

Shen stressed that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, General Secretary Xi Jinping has attached great importance to women's work and the reform of the women's federations, and he has made a series of important discourses which laid out fundamental rules for the high-quality development of the work of the women's federations in the new era.

Efforts should be made to organize public education to mark the CPC's centenary, focus on ensuring a good start for implementing the 14th Five-Year Plan, mobilize women to make contributions at their posts, and implement women's voluntary service activities and women's actions for scientific and technological innovation and rural revitalization.

Shen urged to foster virtue through education, strengthen the building of family, family education and family traditions, integrate rights protection with stability maintenance, protect women and children's rights and interests in accordance with the law, care for disadvantaged women and children, enable women and children to have a stronger sense of fulfillment, happiness and security, and safeguard political security in matters involving women and children.

Shen also called for strengthening the reforms of the women's federations at grassroots level.

Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, delivered a work report at the meeting. Huang reviewed the achievements made by the women's federations in 2020, and laid out the key tasks for 2021.

At the meeting, all the members of the executive committee exchanged ideas on implementing the spirit of the instructions made by the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and serving the overall situation, women and families in a better way.

The session passed a work report submitted to the executive committee, as well as amendments to some regulations and provisions.
