Huang Xiaowei, Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Vice-Chairperson of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council, met a delegation of Cuban women cadres on September 26.
Huang said China and Cuba are good friends, good comrades and good brothers. Under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, the building of a China-Cuba community with a shared future has continued to deepen and solidify. Women's organizations in the two countries have united and cooperated to write a chapter of friendship and cooperation between Chinese and Cuban women. China is ready to use the important consensus reached by the heads of state as a guide, deepen exchanges and mutual learning, and advance the special, friendly relations between China and Cuba to a new level.
Huang outlined the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and also China's achievements in pursuing Chinese modernization. She comprehensively introduced the major decisions and arrangements, made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, for women's development, which are of pioneering, overarching and long-term importance. She also introduced China's historic achievements in women's development in the new era, and the development and reform of women's federations.
Osmayda Hernández Beleño, member of the National Committee of the Federation of Cuban Woman (FMC), and a full-time member of the FMC Secretariat, spoke highly of China's great progress in pursuing Chinese modernization, achieved under CPC's leadership. She thanked China for its firm support of Cuba's just cause, and she expressed willingness to help strengthen exchanges and cooperation between women's organizations of the two countries, thus promoting greater development of China-Cuba relations.
Lin Yi, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, a head of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs Coordination of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), and Alberto Blanco Silva, Cuban Ambassador to China, also attended.
The delegation was received by the ACWF and the IDCPC. Ma Hui, Vice-Minister of IDCPC met the delegation. During their stay in China, members of the delegation learned about Chinese women's participation in the digital economy and rural revitalization, and about the development of women's federations in China.
