The project aims to explore different modes of early childhood development and caring services for children under 3 in the province, preliminarily establish the system and expert team of early childhood development and caring services for children under 3, and formulate its service guidelines and relevant policies.

Kunming University, a technical service provider for the project, will take full advantage of its resources in the aspects of medicine and nutriology to set up a team, which will offer professional guidance and give supervision and assessment every year.

The team will make brochures according to experiences of different modes. It will establish an interactive platform of the project implementation and regular reports of the progress of the project. The team will also share effective practices and work out solutions to tough tasks.

Model kindergartens will work out detailed plans for implementing the project, organize teaching and provide different services, improve their management through regular reviews and reports of their work, increase capacity of the teaching staff and publicize their scientific research achievements among other kindergartens in the province.

The province's office of the working committee on children and women urged the model kindergartens to offer customized services to meet the demands of people of different groups.

He Hongmei, Deputy Director of the province's working committee and President of the Yunnan women's federation, said the project will provide a new platform for promoting women and children's cause in a better way. It is bound to play the role of promotion and demonstration in the aspects of service research, discipline construction, personnel training and knowledge popularization, He added.
