Women's Federation Brings Warmth to Left-behind Children in Yingtan, E China's Jiangxi

 January 20, 2020

As the winter vacation approaches, the Women's Federation of Yingtan City, in East China's Jiangxi Province, and relevant departments and organizations recently called on the public to pay attention to the thoughts, psychology and safety of left-behind children whose parents have migrated to other places for work, to promote good family traditions and law and safety knowledge to left-behind children and bring care to them.

The federation organized a group of 20-plus women volunteers who brought toys and stationery worth some 3,000 yuan (US $ 434.72) for the left-behind children in Liuyuan Primary School in Jinjiang Town of Yujiang District in Yingtan. The volunteers played games and sang songs with the children, and they also established a loving library for the school.

The activity is part of a nationwide campaign titled "Taking Love Home" launched by the All-China Women's Federation, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and several other departments and organizations last December, which aims to bring care to disadvantaged children during the winter vacation and the Spring Festival.

The city's women's federation will hold various activities, including publicizing the regulation on the promotion of family education of Jiangxi Province and offering one-on-one family education guidance to parents. They will also offer training sessions on life education and give psychological care and legal lectures to left-behind and disadvantaged children.
