Protecting Women, Children's Rights, Interests

 February 16, 2020

To promote the protection of women's legal rights and interests, Tianjin (in North China)'s Women's Federation and the First Intermediate People's Court of Tianjin recently signed a document, in which the organizations' cadres announced they would establish 10 work mechanisms, through which the organizations would work together to better protect women and children's legal rights and interests.

Women's federations and courts, at all levels in Tianjin, for years have put much effort into helping residents combat domestic violence, resolve family disputes and improve their understanding of the law. Based on their experiences, the organizations' cadres plan to establish work mechanisms, through which they can cooperate with each other to end domestic violence and help residents resolve family disputes. That, in turn, will promote social justice and harmony within families. The cadres also plan to make greater efforts to improve parental education, to provide psychological services to residents involved in family disputes, and to improve their ability to better help women and children protect their legal rights and interests.

A leader of Tianjin Women's Federation recently told media the establishment of the mechanisms will promote the integration of the federation's reform, judicial reform and innovations in the management of social affairs.
