A total of 100 families were honored the Most Beautiful Families of Zhejiang Province at the launching ceremony of the Family Education Promotion Week in Cixi City on May 11.

These families stood out from the province's 16 million households after public or self-recommendation and collection via media platforms. Their stories of the fine family traditions and culture inspired the audiences as well as viewers on the livestreaming platforms. 

One of the winners, Chen Xiaojing gave up her business in Shanghai and returned to her home village in 2017 to boost local economy. She brought the village a new look through improving its environment and developing tourism. 

Meanwhile, her husband supported her decision and undertook most of the housework. "He is my husband, the one who supports me, cares about me, and shares duties with me," Chen said.

Another awardee Zhou Miaohong, who is Vice Director of the Zhejiang Yitao Law Firm, holds a principle with her husband — rejecting abuse of power for personal gain. They supervise each other and are strict with themselves at all times.

As a lawyer, Zhou has handled more than 300 cases in her career with zero complaints.

These families also witnessed a kick-off ceremony for a Family Education Promotion Week event, which was the first of its kind in Zhejiang.

The Family Education Promotion Week was designated as an annual event to promote family education, according to a new provincial regulation on promotion of family education. It is held around the International Day of Families, which is observed on May 15 every year.

According to the organizers of the event, women's federations in Zhejiang at all levels have been rolling out a series of activities to improve family education and parent-child relationship since May 11.

They have conducted online knowledge contests on the regulation and launched surveys on family education, and published a sequence of cartoons and videos to further promote family education. 

Experts and scholars from the Provincial Family Education Society have also been invited to explain the new regulation through online courses and grassroots lecture tours.
