The final of the Jiangxi Women Role Models' Speech Contest, held by the Jiangxi Women's Federation, was held in Nanchang, capital city of East China's Jiangxi Province, on September 29.
Yang Huili, recommended by the Women's Federation of Nanchang City, is one of the competitors. She is deputy director of the medical and nursing department of Xinjian District People's Hospital and one of the role models in the country's fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.
After the epidemic outbreak, Yang rushed to support Central China's Hubei Province as a member of Jiangxi's medical team. Her speech and brave deeds touched the audiences.
Li Huali, recommended by the Women's Federation of Jiujiang City, was the first prize winner in the contest. Li, a nurse at Jiujiang University Affiliated Hospital, is also a team member to support the anti-virus battle in Hubei Province. In 1998, she joined an anti-flood medical rescue team. After the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, Li answered the call once again.
"If one day the country needs us, I believe more women like me will respond to the call of the motherland, and safeguard the country and the people," Li said emotionally in her lecture.
Lai Mingjuan, recommended by the Women's Federation of Ji'an City, is a retired employee of the Donggu Museum in the city's Qingyuan District. She was a recipient of the Excellent Award with a speech titled Inheriting Grandfather's Will.
Lai's grandfather, Lai Jingbang, was a founder of the Donggu Revolutionary Base during wartime and also a martyr. During her 40 years working at the Donggu Museum, Lai Mingjuan explained the history of the revolutionary base to tourists from all over the country.
After fierce competition, the recipients of the Top 10 Lecturers were announced. They were also listed into the Jiangxi Women Role Models' Lecture Team.
The lecture team was established in May 2019, aiming to spread the Party's innovative theories and policies. Up to now, it has more than 3,000 lecturers, and more than 3,900 lecture activities have been organized.
