Jiangxi Combats Domestic Violence, Protects Girls' Safety

 November 28, 2020

The Office of Jiangxi Working Committee on Children and Women on September 8 held a conference on combating domestic violence and protecting girls' safety. The event, held in Nanchang, capital of East China's Jiangxi Province, promoted implementation of China's Law Against Domestic Violence and the (trial) directive on establishing a mechanism for reporting cases involving infringements of minors' rights and interests to public security agencies. The event was also intended to improve the work mechanism, through which various organizations cooperate with each other to end domestic violence and protect girls' safety. That, in turn, will promote social justice and harmony within families.

Various organizations (in Jiangxi) in recent years have made tremendous efforts to protect women and children's rights and interests. For example, Jiangxi Provincial Higher People's Court implemented a pilot project to reform the way the courts handled cases that involved family disputes. Jiangxi's education departments have improved their work mechanisms, so the departments could better prevent primary and middle school students from falling victims to school bullying and campus violence.
