Guilin Women's Federation combines the work of screening and preventing potential violence against women and children with the work of mediating marriage and family disputes. [For Women of China] |
For the past year, Guilin (a city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) Women's Federation has combined the work of screening and preventing potential violence against women and children with the work of mediating marriage and family disputes.
The federation has attached importance to grassroots-level investigations, with a focus on 12 kinds of families that might have disputes, to learn about at-risk families' basic information, and to effectively prevent potential disputes that may occur within the families.
The federation has given full play to the role of full- and part-time cadres, and members of executive committees, of the women's federations (in the city) in paying close attention to major concerns, including marriage disputes, domestic violence and the land rights and interests of rural women.
The federation has successfully prevented potential violence against women and children for 68 times.
