The Commission of Politics and Law of the Communist Party of China Shanxi Provincial Committee, with Shanxi Women's Federation, recently held an activity in Yangquan, a city in North China's Shanxi Province, to promote an innovative method — based on a grading system — of solving family disputes.
Participants visited a family service center, a police station and the court in Pingding, a county in Yangquan, where they learned how Pingding used a grading system to solve family disputes. Participants also watched a video clip about the grading system. Based on the system, family disputes are graded into five degrees (represented by five colors) and, based on the level of degree, women's federations, at different levels, are responsible for solving the disputes.
Representatives of Yangquan and Jinzhong women's federations, the commission of politics and law of Pingding county's Party committee and Pingding Women's Federation shared their experiences in solving family disputes. Since the grading system was implemented, women's federations in Yangquan have solved more than 2,100 disputes.
