Yunnan Women's Federation organizes an activity for local residents to publicize legal knowledge and advocate new marriage and childbirth customs. [For Women of China] |
Yunnan Women's Federation during the past several months has invited legal experts and psychologists to provide, both online and offline, lectures to residents of various regions in Southwest China's Yunnan Province, to help them better understand laws, and to advocate new marriage and childbirth customs, to promote both the basic State policy of gender equality and the Chinese Government's advocacy of giving birth to and raising and educating healthy babies. Many participants said they benefited greatly from the lectures, as they had not only improved their ability to protect their rights and interests, but had also gained a better understanding of the correct views on love, families and childbearing.
The federation in October arranged for women cadres and residents of Lincang City, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture and Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (all in Yunnan Province) to attend online courses, to help women increase their knowledge about the law and psychology. The courses were well received by many women.
