LHASA, April 8 (Xinhua) — The inaugural postgraduate textbook series for Tibetan medicine was on Tuesday unveiled in Lhasa, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, marking a milestone in the standardization and systematization of advanced talent cultivation in the field.
The collection was developed by over 60 of China's leading experts in Tibetan medicine and traditional calendar studies.
According to Norbu Dondrup, dean of the graduate department at the Xizang University of Tibetan Medicine, it spans 14 volumes across five key disciplines: fundamental Tibetan medical theory, classic studies, clinical practice, Tibetan pharmacology and astronomical calendar calculations.
Since the establishment of its master's programs in 1999, the university has elevated its academic standing steadily, securing approval for a postdoctoral research station in 2020.
