Celebrate New Year with Chinese Cultural Heritage

 January 30, 2022

Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is just a few days away. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, many cities have encouraged residents to stay put during the holiday.

Langyuan Park, a creative cultural landmark in Shijingshan District of Beijing, is presenting a series of New Year celebrations for the incoming Year of the Tiger.

Combining traditional folk customs, digital tech, contemporary art and elements of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Langyuan Park plays host to a recreational tour about Beijing history and culture.

Visitors can try various types of facial makeup from Peking Opera, view festive lanterns and take photos wearing hanfu in front of traditional Beijing courtyards.

To highlight the animal of the New Year, the park has set up tiger sculptures all over the area for visitors to take pictures with their family and friends.

Langyuan Park Library will also play short videos about the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, giving this year's festive atmosphere a sporty touch.
