The Girls' Protection Project collaborated with the Communication University of China to provide training to 28 freshmen students from the university's law department on December 23 in Beijing. Now having undergone the training on girls' protection, the students will become volunteers to deliver lectures to other students on the precautions and measures they can take to avoid sexual abuse.
The December 23 event marked the first time that the project cooperated with a university institution to provide such training course. During the course, Sun Xuemei, one of the initiators of the project, gave the students an overview of the project's history and also taught the students how to give a workshop of their own to other pupils, providing them with the teaching-plan basics that they needed.

"In the past, there were some university students who joined our project as volunteers. But this is our first time cooperating with a university to give training to university students. I can see already that more and more students will be joining our project as a result of the university training initiative," said Sun. Sun Jing, an official from the university, told reporters, "Through the project, university students can learn how to love others and to make their own contributions to society. It can also help to improve the students' social skills."

The Girls' Protection Project was initiated by hundreds of female reporters in 2013 with an aim to promote the knowledge of children's protection. The project has assigned hundreds of volunteers to give lessons and workshops to students on the precautions they can take to protect against sexual abuse.
