Post-90s Chicken Farmer Helps Villagers Escape Poverty

Lu Lanjuan, 29, started helping her father run a chicken farm in her hometown, Liantang, a village in Guiping City, Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, after she graduated from Guangxi University in 2014.

She applies veterinary science, her major at the university, to chicken farming. Her tasks range from castration to epidemic prevention, and she gets involved in almost all the work, including transporting feed, cleaning chicken houses, and shoveling manure.

The farm now sells more than 1.3 million chickens a year.

She has also helped 207 impoverished families in her hometown raise chickens, lifting some villagers out of poverty.

Lu plans to further develop the industrial chain and help more people improve their lives.
