Huang Xiaowei, Vice President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Vice Chairperson of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council, met Mariam Talata, Vice President of Benin, on September 4. Talata was in Beijing to attend the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Huang noted Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Beninese counterpart, Patrice Athanase Guillaume Talon, had announced the establishment of a China-Benin strategic partnership in September 2023, pushing bilateral relations to a new level. Under the guidance of the two heads of state, China is ready to implement the outcomes of the 2024 FOCAC Summit, deepen women's friendly cooperation between the two countries, and work together to build an even closer China-Africa community with a shared future.

Huang outlined the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and she introduced China's achievements in pursuing Chinese modernization. She also outlined ACWF's efforts to develop new ways to implement major projects, such as Women's Action for Rural Revitalization, Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation, the Family Happiness and Well-Being Campaign, and the Spring Bud Project.

Talata spoke of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, noting it was of great significance to both China and the world. She highly appreciated China's achievements in women's development. She said Benin is willing to enhance mutual learning with China, deepen women's practical cooperation, and advance the countries' friendship.
