Huang Accompanies First Ladies of Gabon, Burundi During Visits to CNCC

Huang Xiaowei, Vice President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Vice Chairperson of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council, accompanied Zita Nguema, First Lady of Gabon, and Angeline Ndayishimiye, First Lady of Burundi, during their respective visits to China National Children's Center (CNCC), on September 6.

 

Huang noted the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee attaches great importance to children's development. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, sent a congratulatory letter to CNCC on its 40th anniversary (in 2022), hoping those who work for children's welfare to become a guide for children's growth, a guardian for children's rights and interests, and a builder for children's future. 

Huang outlined the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. She also introduced China's historical achievements in women's and children's development in the new era. Huang recalled China's history of developing ties with Gabon and Burundi, and of promoting exchanges between Chinese women and women from the two countries. She said China is ready to promote solidarity and cooperation to contribute to the building of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

 

Huang accompanied Nguema and Ndayishimiye during their visits to CNCC's Experimental Kindergarten and Family Nursing and Support Center. They watched children performing martial arts, playing drums, and performing a Loong (Chinese dragon) Dance, and together, they made sachets. 

The First Ladies extended congratulations on the success of the Thematic Meeting on Women's Education of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, held on September 5. They also spoke highly of China's achievements in women's and children's development, especially in promoting children's healthy growth and all-round development. They expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation with China to help more women and children create better lives.

Lin Yi, Vice President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, and Ma Liejian, Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, also attended.
