NANJING, June 7 (Xinhua) — Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin has called for efforts to intensify the cultivation of skilled talent, ensure employment and entrepreneurship among college graduates and other young people, and promote high-quality and full employment.

Shen made the remarks during a research trip on employment and vocational skills training from Wednesday to Friday in the cities of Suzhou, Wuxi and Nanjing in east China's Jiangsu Province.

During her trip, Shen learned about the current state of employment through visits to various locations, urging an enhancement of the quality and focus of large-scale vocational training programs, as well as the cultivation of high-quality skilled talent.

It is vital to coordinate and leverage the roles of public service and market institutions, provide more precise and efficient employment services, and strengthen employment assistance for vulnerable groups, she said.

She also called for making full use of existing support policies, and for optimizing employment and entrepreneurship services for young groups such as college graduates during the graduation season.
