President of Primary School Spares No Effort to Improve Children's Education

 June 13, 2021

To pursue her dream of promoting China's reform of basic education, Lu Yongli assumed the position of vice-president of Beijing No. 2 Experimental Primary School in 2011, soon after she quit her job with Beijing Normal University (she had taught educational psychology at the university for 13 years). Given her outstanding achievements, she was promoted to president of the primary school in 2016.

During the past nine years, Lu has attached great importance to promoting moral education among children. Her efforts accord with President Xi Jinping's idea of using education to help minors shape their character and morals.

She has also led the school's teachers in incubating children's brilliant minds, and in helping the kids build strong physiques and establish lofty ideals.

Lu believes schools, families and society should make concerted efforts to improve children's education. Under her guidance, the school has implemented a project, under which both teachers and parents try their best to help children study more efficiently. Lu also encourages teachers, through face-to-face talks, to help parents better educate their children. In addition, she helps teachers establish their lifelong career-development goals.
