The APEC Women and the Economy Forum 2022 was held on September 7 in Bangkok, capital of Thailand, this year's host economy of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). Lin Yi, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), was invited to deliver a speech via video link during the forum. A program on the screening strategy for maternal depression was the top winner of the 2022 APEC Healthy Women, Healthy Economies Research Prize. The program was recommended by the ACWF in collaboration with Zheng Ruimin's team from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC).

Lin said Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed in his remarks at the APEC Informal Economic Leaders' Retreat (held in July 2021), "the Asia-Pacific is a major engine for global economic growth" and "for member economies of the Asia-Pacific, defeating COVID-19 and restoring growth at an early date are our top priority for the time being."

Lin outlined the historic achievements reached in Chinese women's development under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese Government. She called on the APEC economies to support women's entrepreneurship and innovation, promote the transition to green and low-carbon development, and advance the progress of global women's undertakings.

The APEC Women and the Economy Forum is a ministerial meeting under the APEC framework. Given the importance attached to this forum, former Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva attended and delivered the keynote speech. High-level delegations from 20 APEC economies attended. Participants exchanged views on the topic "ensuring women's economic empowerment," and they shared their good practices in enhancing women's overall development. A chairmen's declaration was adopted during the forum.
