Lin Yi, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), met Alberto Blanco Silva, Cuban Ambassador to China, and his spouse in Beijing on January 10. The two sides had in-depth communications on deepening China-Cuba friendship and enhancing cooperation among women of the two countries.

Lin extended a warm welcome to Blanco for his visit to the ACWF after his reappointment as Cuban Ambassador to China. Lin outlined the 13th National Women's Congress of China (held in late October 2023), noting Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, had attended the congress' opening and delivered an important speech during a talk with ACWF's new leadership, which revealed the great importance Xi attaches to the cause of women and his cordial care for hundreds of millions of women, and greatly inspired and encouraged women's federations at all levels. Lin also explained the progress achieved in Chinese women's undertakings during the new era as well as ACWF's major work.

Blanco highly praised Xi as a great leader. The ambassador congratulated the ACWF on its successful holding of the National Women's Congress, thanked the ACWF for the selfless aid and precious support to Cuban people throughout the years, and expressed his willingness to promote greater development of women's exchanges between China and Cuba.
